UN Global Pulse used Twitter's data tools and real-time dataset of public tweets from around the world. The collaborative was announced in 2016 to support the United Nations' efforts to achieve the UN's Sustainable Development Goals. By using the information contained in "social conversations" like those on Twitter, UN Global Pulse is able to track the impact of public health campaigns, track the reports of rising food costs and better coordinate relief efforts.
