Operating through the framework of the GSMA's Big Data for Social Good Initiative, Bharti Airtel (a telecommunications company) worked with Be He@lthy, Be Mobile (an initiative between the World Health Organization and International Telecommunications Union) to better understand the value of mobile data for improving detection of tuberculosis in India. Participants applied Airtel's data to the Indian states of Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, which have a high tuberculosis burden, to identify geographical locations most at risk of tuberculosis incidence.
