The Open Data Cube Initiative performed an analysis on satellite images provided by Digital Earth Australia to map the Australian fire events in 2019-2020. The analysis is based on satellite images "from two months previous and 3 months after a fire event." From this data, the analysts reports that they were able to measure the size of the fire and severity of the impact in less than ten minutes.
