Deutsche Telekom, the German telecommunications company and the largest telecommunications provider in Europe, has provided 5 GB of anonymized consumer data to the Robert Koch Institute, the German federal government’s disease control and prevention body. The information will be used to help scientists understand mobility and predict the spread of COVID-19 to inform disease prevention strategies.
